Very small and plastic like
I ordered the 24oz bowl not realizing it would be so small. It also doesn't hold 24oz, it only holds 20oz, I measured. It has a very plastic appearance and feel. I was quite disappointed.

Great for cooking and serving
These are wonderful little bowls for ingredients. I have a pretty small kitchen and don't like a lot of clutter when I cook. The attraction was my preference for natural cooking mediums...I prefer stone, clay, wood, etc. I use these for pre-measured ingredients, mixing eggs, making sauces, etc. They are perfect for people who find themselves pulling cereal bowls out of the cabinet to cook with but probably not for people who don't do a lot of cooking that requires a variety of sized bowls. They are pretty, though, and make great little serving bowls. They look and feel like wood to me...but they are a finished product so they do not have a "rustic" wood charm...but they are not so laminated and refined that they are void of imperfections or completely without the feel of wood. I have never machine washed them, so I don't know how well the finish would hold up without hand washing, but I do use them daily and they are exposed to red chili, tomatoes, and other harsh, staining substances...yet they wash up beautifully and the finish protects them adequately...no stains or splits yet.

Disappointed
In person, this bowl looks like it's plastic; is not readily recognized as wood. Also, it is thinner than it appears in the photo. I ordered the large bowl for $30 and received the small $10 bowl. With that mistake, I decided to return it and not order another one.
