Love it!!!
I bought the Chicago Metallic Nonstick Petite Broil & Roast Pan to replace the one that came with the toaster/convection oven I have (which I love). But the pan and rack it came with, within just a few uses, had a gooey, sticky greasy covering that wouldn't come off, no matter what I used or how long I soaked it.
I love Chicago Metallic. This pan and roaster is just the perfect size and no greasy build-up. Because the corners are so tight, there does get a little 'grease' in the corner, but it isn't much and I've figured out how to get it clean. Whenever I need to clean a small, tight space, I use a Q-tip and that's what I've done. Dip the Q-tip in a little dish soap, rub it in the corner, and it's gone!!!
I love Chicago Metallic so much I bought the three-piece cookie sheet/jelly roll pan set as well as the 9 x 13 Broil & Roast Pan for my oven. Can't wait to try it out.

What People Talk About Roasting Pans »

Roasting Pans..?

samantha answered:
I have both, and I love both (one is bigger than the other, which is why I have two!) I worry a little less about how I clean and care for my stainless steel one, but keep in mind that shiny stainless steel looks great but does not conduct or hold heat as well as anodized...which is why I still tend to use my anodized one more. (it's Calphalon, by the way). If I had to recommend one over the other, I would recommend a hard-anodized one. Just make sure it's a high-quality one!

    Pick the stainless steel model.
It will last you a life time.
My 40 year old stainless steel pots and pans look brand new.
Don't go for the anodized non-stick, because ALL non-stick coatings eventually peel and end up in your food. Yuck
    Congrats on your upcoming Wedding.

How do you clean big roasting pans?

Grandmabird answered:
Try baking soda and vinegar with a scratch free scrubber. Or I have had good luck with good old 409 cleaner on the grease. As long as the pan is not burning anything I wouldn't replace it just because it has stains, its like replacing your body when it gets wrinkles...life happens.
  • Andrew also said:
I don't know what you roast, or if you roasting pan has a lid, but I would switch to a large cast iron skillet or a dutch oven. The finish on both of these will last a lifetime. Both are very heavy. The same cast iron skillets have been in my family for a couple generations now. If you want to keep the food moist put the meat on top of a bed of fruit or vegetables when you roast it in the oven. I hope I helped. There is a section on my blog about cast iron pans, check it out.
COLLEGE PROFESSOR asked on Oct 08, 2006:

How long should I roast TWO (2) 15lb. Turkeys, Side by side in separate roasting pans?

Smurfetta answered:
2 - 3 hours @ 325 degrees. Until internal temp is 160 degrees.
To measure the internal temperature of the turkey, insert a thermometer through the thickest part of the breast to the bone.
Times are for unstuffed birds. A stuffed bird may cook at the same rate as an unstuffed one; however, be prepared to allow 30 to 50 minutes more. While turkeys take about the same time to roast in regular and convection heat, a convection oven does a better job of browning the bird all over. When you remove the turkey legs, if you find that the meat around the thigh joint is still too pink, cut the drumsticks from the thighs and put thighs in a shallow pan in a 450° oven until no longer pink, 10 to 15 minutes.

roasting pans made nesco?

Dottie R answered:
Here is a link to Nesco and its roaster ovens. I'm not sure what your question is but maybe you can answer your own question by reading their literature.

Yes, they make a 12 quart electric roaster oven.
