Customer Reviews:
Wonderful grill/griddle
We are remodeling our kitchen and this pan has been wonderful. I place it on our outside gass grill and breckfast is served. Bacon, eggs and hash brown have never been easier. The pan was preseasoned to perfection. I am so glad I perchased this. It will add a great addition to my new gas stove.

Like it, but it's hard to clean...
I've wanted one of these griddle/grill pans for years. Finally broke down and bought one and was excited to use it. As far as cooking on it, it was great. The only downside is clean-up... Obviously, since you're not supposeto use soap on these pans, clean-up is easiest when the pan is warm/hot. Because this pan is so big and heavy, it's nearly impossible to try to clean it while it's warm/hot without burning yourself. As such, it's nearly impossible to get it completely clean because you're trying to wash a cool pan without soap.. Cooking with it is great, but clean-up is a definite drag.

A good alternative
I bought this grill plan after reading all the reviews. I initally wanted the Rachael Ray one, but the price was prohibitive for my budget. This one does great. There was smoke in the kitchen, however, and I will use a fan next time. It was just like cooking outdoors without the hassle and smoky/charcoal lighter taste we don't like. I like it.

What People Talk About Griddle Pans »

janga asked on Sep 22, 2006:

What pots and pans should we avoid with a new ceramic top stove, particulalry cast iron and long griddle pans?

Sugar Pie answered:
I think if you place your LeCrueset on the stove, rather than sliding and dragging it around, you will be fine. The main key is for your pans to have a flat bottom, and not be warped, to get even and adequate heating.

I have a ceramic top stove, and I have never had a problem with the type of cookware I use. I rearly use cast iron, but I have used it, and it works great. All I can suggest is try it and see.

any hot pan will work fine. you want a good hot pan so they'll get some color before cooking all the way through and getting messy. you could also put them under a broiler.

How to clean my griddle pan?

doclakewrite answered:
soak it will warm water and baking soda....
scrub it well with a scouring brush and cleaner.
rinse well and dry.
once dry, coat it(all sides)with oil (any kind of vegetable oil) and clean out excess oil with a dry paper towel...it should be left a bit shiny...
After using the grill each time it should be cleaned and seasoned(oiled) in order to keep it nice....
