Charcoal Companion Platinum Gas Grill V-Shape Smoker Box, Long
Product Features:
  • 13-3/4-inch long; model number: CC4066
  • Hinged lid for adding wood chips
  • V-shape to fit between flame deflector bars on gas grills

Product Description:

Gas grills are considered by many to be the most convenient way to grill but unfortunately this usually means giving up great smoky flavor for convenience. The Charcoal Companion Smoker Box features a V-shape bottom which allow it to sit between the flame deflector bars of most gas grills. This positions the smoke right beneath the food grate for the most intense smoke flavor. Stainless steel smoker box has hinged lid and is reusable. Add wood chips of your flavor choice and place between the flame deflector bars on the gas grill. (wood chips not included)

Customer Reviews:
Pleasantly Surprised On First Use
Used the smoker box for the first time on grilling swordfish steaks. Used a combo of chips designed for fish - alder, apple and cherry woods.
Added great flavor to the fish. Couple of favorable remarks made about the distinct taste. Haven't used it yet for meats or chicken, but so far well pleased. Great buy for the money, strongly recommend.

Great smoker for a Brinksman 6 burner grill
My old rectangular box smoker (from K-mart) finally rusted through after two years of use. I got this model for three particular reasons: a) It is stainless steel construction (hope this lasts longer); b) The top is hinged for easy load and cleaning; and c) As the previous reviewer stated - the price was right.

I bought two since I do a dry rub and slow smoke (3+hrs) pork ribs - placing one smoker on each end of the BBQer. The bigger model (there are two sizes) is too long to drop the smoker in-between the two end burners, but this turned out fine since it lays on top and in-between the two end burners at an angle with the top holes pointing toward the center - directing the smoke to the meat from two directions.

The result so far is some fine slow smoked ribs and chicken.

Time will tell how long these will last - so far so good eats.

A great boon for gas grillers
I've been looking to buy a smoker box for years but they were always a little too pricey. This one was at such a reasonable price that I was concerned that it would be flimsy. But it's not. It's sturdy and fits my grill perfectly.

I live in an area where charcoal grills are prohibited, so I'm stuck with a gas grill. Finally I can get grilled food that tastes like what I remember from when I was a kid.

Why are cigarettes and lighters sold in gas stations?

EvelynMine answered:
It became the norm when cigarette vending machines turned obsolete even if they are un-mixably dangerous to "use" at gas stations...often I see the attendants stepping outside for a cigarette...hummmm....come to think of it, maybe I should carry my own fire extinguisher
zippy asked on Jul 30, 5623:

can zippo lighters be refilled with gas?

ccfries answered:
Don't use gasoline, use the proper lighter fluid.

It'll light, but who knows what additives are in it?

Also, you'll smell like gasoline all day. Who wants that!
