Customer Reviews:
So-So poacher
Although this poacher has an attractive outward appearance, it is very thin and light. I haven't used it yet, but wish it would have been heavier.

What is the law regarding poaching of fish from british waters?

Bob the Boat answered:
Hi,
In my book, no-one has the right to "own" the fish in the lake, therefore they are Gods creatures, and should be available to all. Regardless of who stocked the lake in the first place.

I say this without malice, as I'm sure that the members of your fishing club are sensible folks, and it is a tradional sport, and in favour of keeping stocks of our fine varieties of fish on the up.

However, I am a boatie on the Inland Waterways of England, and love to see the likes of Heron & Kingfishers on the bank, and the flapping of fish spawning between the moored boat and the bank-side, although it can keep you awake at night !

But I have had a slight altercation wirg a fidhing competion sitting on the towpath, blocking it all up, leaving stuff in the canal that gets around your prop., huge carbon fibre rods in array impeding valuable progress, and verbal abuse for daring to use the canal system for what it was designed for.
I didn't stock this wonderful system of transportation with fish !

I was told off. even though I had slowed down to about 3mph when confronted with a large row of rods sticking out to the other bankside. I felt compelled to reply that he had a lightweight rod, I had a 12ton steel boat. Who is going to win ?

Oh fair play to you and fellow fishermen, and each to their own, of course, boats and anglers should appreciate each other, and get on.

But if the National Grid fails, and all the shops & supermarkets pack up, I shall be down the local river with Grandads rod in hand. Poaching from who ? God. I'm sure He wouldn't mind.

All the best with the various diverse authorities, and happy angling.
