Product Features:
  • Includes a years' worth of micro-filters; BPA free
  • Makes American style coffee or an espresso-style shot perfect for use in lattes or cappuccinos
  • Unique coffee/espresso maker uses total immersion and gentle pressure to produce coffee with extraordinarily rich flavor

Product Description:

The AeroPress is an entirely new way to make coffee, American style or Espresso style for use in lattes, cappucinos and other espresso based drinks. AeroPress brews simply delicious coffee, 1-4 cups per pressing. Ideal water temperature and faster brewing yields rich flavor with lower acidity and without bitterness. Other brewing processes use near boiling water and long exposure to coffee grounds. Quickly brew a variety of coffee drinks including an Americano or an espresso-style shot for use in lattes or cappuccinos. Its total-immersion system permits extraction at a moderate temperature and a short brew time. Water and grounds are mixed together for 10 seconds, then gentle air pressure pushes the mix through a micro-filter in just 20 seconds, which avoids the bitterness of long processes such as drip brewing. The air pressure also gently squeezes the last goodness from the grounds, further enriching the flavor. The total brewing time of only 30 seconds results in an exceptionally smooth brew. The AeroPress is BPA free.

Customer Reviews:
Great Coffee machine!
This machine is great to use, excellent coffee on the first cup and many cups after. I purchased two each, one for work and one for home.

You really don't need to use the plunger but its useful to blow the air through the filter to the last coffee drop out of the machine after it drips through by gravity( for Drip Coffee). Using the plunger creates more atmospheric pressure (7 to 11) using hot water 194 to 203 Deg F for an expresso what I read on sweetmarias dot com website.

The filters are sort of expensive AeroPress Micro-Filters, Package of 350 with the shipping, so its best to "wash em out and flip em over" or just buy some cheap Rockline 43-301 Coffee Filter Disc or any cheap large coffee filters at Walmart and cut out 2 at a time (2 1/2" diameter) with a template C-Thru Jumbo-Circles Template and exacto knife which you never need to worry about purchasing these disc filters in the future.

Must have item!!!
I've been recently exposed to this device and I wish I knew about it sooner.

I have all sorts of java juice extraction devices (to include drip, percolator, French Press, and my Saeco Super-automatic) and this $20 dollar device clobbers them when it comes to single/double servings. With the correct type of coffee and water temp, you can get the creme just like wiki image on their wiki page. This coffee is so simple and easy, I'm seriously considering selling my $600 Saeco--yes, seriously.

I currently have two, one for home, one for work and will soon have a 3rd for my suitcase.

I can't put into works how much I love this thing. If I could by stock in Aerobie I would be a 10% owner and start selling the suckers myself.

For customers looking to buy, it comes w/ 300 some filters already so you can save the extra $10 and get the press without the extra filters. I also rinse and reuse my micro-filters for the day and it tastes just the same. Go ahead... call me cheap

Works great, but I received a used Aeropress
I'm quite happy with this purchase for $22. I received my Aeropress today. I've been using those plastic Bodums from Starbucks (the ones that say "Give Up Bad Coffee For Good") for a while, and I never felt like investing in a glass one since I heard they break easily. I'm completely satisfied with the coffee produced by the Aeropress and thus with the product itself, but I'm not happy about receiving what was obviously a returned Aeropress. It was kind of dirty and the inside still smelled faintly of grounds. I wouldn't have any problem with this if the listing on Amazon said that they were refurbished. It's not really a big deal, but I'm still going to have to give four stars.

The French Press History « Coffee De Amour

In the 1840s, when the vacuum pot and Belgium weight brewers were key introduced, the concept of a plunger was throughout, but technology was not able to communicate a risky accoutrements clarify didn’t.

By the prematurely 1900s, the haste pot, called a “Cafeolette” starting seemly more lay and was showing up on grocery believe in shelves. In the 1930s, Melior introduced the leading original with a stainless nerve strainer and a metal masses, then swiftly they introduced a ideal reminiscent of Bodum’s coeval day “Chambord” score. Why is it reminiscent? Because Bodum bought that plan!

In factors, Bodum is very likely more important for the average day chance of the gather pot than any other performers. In the seventies, they started introducing their whacked out colours in their shoddy, metal and spyglass around pots. In the 1980s, fueled by their profits, they bought lines like Chambord and brought out more Greek-look radio b newspaper people pots. The trestle is, as they say, information.

Sak asked on Dec 23, 2009:

How to make good French press coffee?

Amanda answered:
While you can brew anything in a French press, you won't get great coffee out of it without great beans. If you put nasty coffee in, you'll get nasty coffee out.

What you need is coffee ground pretty coarsely. The instructions say to use the coarsest grind. I thought it worked better with the coffee ground to a percolator grind, but I'd suggest experimenting. Regular canned coffee for an automatic drip machine will not work. So you're going to have to buy whole-bean coffee and either grind it in the store or grind it with your grinder at home. You can get a cheap grinder for US$20 or less, but if you want a high-quality grinder expect to pay quite a bit more.

Once you have your coarsely ground coffee, use the scoop to put coffee in the press (1 scoop per 4 oz of coffee - if you have a 16-oz press and want to fill it with coffee, that's 4 scoops). If you're picky about quality or just don't want it to cool too fast, pre-heat the press by pouring hot water in it. Then pour in water just off the boil, add the cover, and wait 4 minutes. Then press the plunger down and pour the coffee out. Let it cool (or not) and enjoy!
