Wine Aerator
Does a great job of helping the wine breath--brings depth to it--and it being white lets me know this one is for white wine.

I WAS IMPRESSED
I am not a wine enthusiast, and definately not into drinking red wines. I had a friend who had one of these aerators and she poured me and some of my friends a glass without it being aerated. I choked down a sip and almost felt like coughing. She then poured some through the aerator and I took a sip. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it was... I could actually drink it and actually liked it. I was amazed that I could actually enjoy red wine and I drank the entire glass and finished it before everyone else. I still do not drink much wine, but I know people who are wine enthusiasts and I am thinking this little gadget will make great gifts.

Love it!
When I was touring Napa, California, I tried red wine using an aerator. I had never seen one before and thought it was a great idea for allowing wine to breath quickly. I didn't buy one right away. I saw this on Amazon and decided to give it a try. And I love it! It does make red wine more lushes. If you like red wine, you will love using this aerator!

Wine Storage Solutions For All Your Vintages | Wines World

Has anyone in all cases called you an oenophile? If someone did, did you be acquainted with what they meant? An oenophile is someone who loves wine. Wine has been a revered beverage Euphemistic pre-owned in precise ceremonies since olden times. It may eat prove to be c finish into being accidentally. Since yeast is throughout in the crowd, at some stress some of it was compelled to end up in some grape extract or other wild juice causing fermentation, and wine was born!

Obsolete people initiate that yeast did not downfall grape power but changed it into a expressly unalike chug-a-lug with a punt, because the fermentation changed the sugar into rot-gut. Antediluvian people did not see this a a bad aspect so they began to net juices, mostly grape strength, into wines.

There was a at the same time when wine storage solutions were not much pondering close by. They adapted to crocks and ewers to accumulation their wine then. With few ways to suppress the temperature or humidity, no one could at any point be incontrovertible that the storage of wine would take one's part to relief it to reach the summit of robust drop. It was discovered that caves and cellars enhanced the wine, and that is how the victory wine cellars started.

What People Talk About Wine Storage »

lwagner1998 asked on Nov 07, 2006:

Wine Storage?

winephilly answered:
good question. At the wine school, we get many people asking for such services. However, if he is looking to open a facility, he needs to think in much higher volume. 3,000 may seem alot, but the school has two cellars: one holds 1K and the other holds 5K bottles. that is extreme (we are a wine school, after all) however, you can expect a serious collector --which are the only people to want such a service--would have somewhere between 500-1000 bottles in their cellar.

You would need a facility with at least 30,000 bottles capacity, seperate lockers for each client, and a redundant cooling system, plus backup generators in case of a blackout.

No way. People who store wine to drink don't want to drive to pick it up.

People who invest & collect can afford a home cellar or cooler.

VERA Z asked on Jul 29, 2007:

What is the temperature difference between the wine cooler and wine storage fridges?

HeldmyW answered:
It's not...

Wine storage can be done safely in temperatures barely above freezing up to about 70 degress farenheit. Remember also that wine matures at a faster rate at higher temperatures. Between 45 - 55 degrees farenheit and humidty between 60%-70% is a superlative range in which to store wine.

A constant wine storage temperature is what you should be striving for. Recurring changes in wine storage temperature can be detrimental to your wine.

Now, a "cooler" is a device for keeping your Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio at a perfect temperature for service. But, ask youself this: just how many bottles of white wine do you need to have at perfect service temperature all the time?

Probably none. Yyour best bet is to chill your room temperature whites in the fridge for between 45 - 90 minutes before serving and drinking.

Glass fronts, shiny chrome, a "name", all can jack up the price of a nice storage unit, but honestly a nice laydown rack in a cool (40-68 degree), dark part of the house is all you need.

Best wishes!
reg_person asked on Sep 20, 2006:

What are the best conditions for wine storage - temperature and especially humidity?

SketchyDrafty answered:
first of all the optimum temperature should be between 10-12 deg C (or 50-55 deg F) but for shorter term storage (IE only a couple of years) 5-18 deg C will do (or 40-65 deg F) note that sudden changes of more than 10 deg F will cause your wines to age prematurely, the humidity affects the shrinkage of the corks and so humidity should be between 50-80%, best results around 70%. Excess humidity doesn't damage the wine, rather only affects the corks and labels. and I' sure you know, but keep them out of light (including UV light) and store horizontally
Happy drinking ; )
TL asked on Sep 08, 2008:

what kind of red and white wine storage is best and two zone is need or not?

Kathy H answered:
Both red and white wines should be stored at the same temperature. It's only when you are ready to drink a wine that you want the wines at different temperatures. 1 zone will work.

Wine cellars are an important investment for the serious wine collector. Ideal temperatures for storing wine are between 50-55 degrees F with humidity at 70 degrees or slightly higher. The higher humidity helps keep the corks moist and reduces evaporation of the wine. Regular refrigerators are cooler than this and have lower humidity that will dry the corks and cause wine evaporation.
