What are really good roller coasters at Dorney Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania?
carpediem4485 answered:
Dorney Park is famous for Steel Force. This is the one that people travel to Dorney for. Dorney also has Hydra which is the first floorless coaster in PA.
If you want other thrill rides you have to ride the Dominator. (I like the down side, not the upside.) This slowly takes you up to the top and the drops you. So fun!
Dorney has lots of hills so prepare to walk. If you are getting the combo pass for Wildwater Kingdom that is a good move, it is really hot here right now.

What do roller coasters use to travel up a hill and then finish a circuit? Is it momentum or velocity?
David N answered:
Momentum.
A chain-gear is used to pull the roller coaster the rest of the way up the track once gravity brings it to a stop.
Velocity is what you feel with every fall and turn. (Velocity is speed and direction.)

How can I overcome a fear of roller coasters?
Ironically Sarcastic answered:
I will tell you my story and I hope it would help you.
A few months ago I went to thorpe park. I was scared of rollercoasters before but I kept saying to myself "I can do this, I can do this" so that gave me a little more courage to go on the ride. So I went on this ride called Nemesis and while waiting outside for the ride to come in, I kept saying "It's going to be ok" so as I got in I just closed my eyes for 10 seconds and breathed in and out until the ride started. My eyes were shut for the first 10 seconds of the ride but you realise it isn't all that bad with your eyes shut. So I opened my eyes and realised it even isn't that bad with eyes open and now I enjoy rollercoasters.
So what you need to do is keep saying positive things to yourself and always try not to think of the bad things. While in the queue talk with friends so that you do not think of the ride and when you get on, close your eyes until you feel confident that it doesn't feel bad with your eyes shut. Open your eyes slightly and see what it's like, when you think it isn't that bad open them fully and if you want to go a little further, stick your hands in the air, as some other people will do.
Now if it's your first time it is advised that you do not eat a big meal as it could affect you while you are on the ride, also you should sit around the middle so you do not feel the full effect of the ride. Start with the small rides then build up confidence to go on bigger ones.
Remember not to think of it while queueing, always think of a topic to talk of with friends or family as a distraction. On the ride don't think of it, just consider it a bumpy ride and always say to yourself that it's not scary. Or just picture a some nice scenery instead.
Now most of all have fun, do not panic on the ride because you are safe. Don't force yourself to go on and don't go on to impress others. Also relax on the ride and enjoy yourself and think nothing of the drops or loops.
So remember: Think positive and you'll have the courage. Turst me it pays off in the end.
Hope this helps!
